Ulster offers a range of expertise to support business enterprise and innovation, from events, research and development projects to consultancy and accessing technologies for licencing. Our expertise and facilities span across:

So whether it’s new product development, solving a technical problem or simply driving internal efficiencies our team can respond to any business challenge and we can also assist in directing you to appropriate funding programmes that might be available.
What funding/programme is right for you?
Consultancy: You can access Ulster’s expertise and specialist equipment and facilities through direct consultancy. There are also a number of funding programmes available to support this, these include:
Innovation Vouchers: These Invest NI/Enterprise Ireland vouchers provide consultancy up to the value of £4,000/€5,000 to support, improve or create new products, services or processes.
Knowledge Transfer Partnership/FUSION: Longer term support programmes such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) provide up to 60% government funding or for businesses in ROI the FUSION programme offers support packages worth up to £44,250/€52,800.
R&D Grants/Accessing Technologies: Research collaboration or specialist R&D projects can seek part funding through Invest NI R&D Grants. Businesses can also access some of Ulster’s technologies through our Open Ulster platform which offers businesses the opportunity to access some of Ulster’s technologies for the licence fee of just £1.
Knowledge Club Events: Businesses can also access Ulster’s expertise through a series of FREE events through our Knowledge Club programme.
